Konvale is a beautiful and unspoilt province that borders Montenegro to the south and Bosnia Herzegovina to the north. Often called ‘Croatias Tuscany, Konvale is a dazzling landscape of verdant valleys, trickling streams and secluded beach coves. Life moves at a slow ebb in Konvale and it is a place of tranquillity amongst nature. Once the agricultural heartland of the prosperous republic of Ragusa, Konvales settlements and people proudly preserve the local heritage and customs. Those visitors eager to get the flavour of the regions culture should visit the nearby village of Cilipi (10.1km) where there is a weekly display of traditional folk dancing. The old Ducal palace at Pridvorje (7.3km) and the recently restored fortress at Sokol Grand (8.4km) also offer enchanting glimpses into the regions past. Konvale is well suited to nature lovers who will delight in exploring the patchwork of peaceful olive groves, rustic vineyards and cypress forests. For lovers of architecture, art and history, the beautiful town of Cavtat is a 20-minute drive (16.1km), whilst the UNESCO heritage city Dubrovnik is about 40 minutes (32km). Cavtat is an utter gem of a town. Founded in the mists of antiquity by the ancient Greeks, this beautiful settlement is a beguiling mix of striking natural scenery and charming cobbled streets and houses.
