Villa Lous sits within a complex of villas on the beautiful Troia Peninsula just a short distance from the beach. Troia Beach is also just a short stroll away with its long sandy stretch and crystal clear waters. The sea is also relatively calm, which makes it ideal for swimming. You can hire sun loungers and relax as the children play on the sand. This beach is made even more picturesque by the wild areas of our pine forest behind it. Sado Estuary Natural Reserve is just over an hour away by car but is well worth the long journey. This area of wetland is home to over 250 species of bird, and you can watch dolphins swimming in the estuary. Endangered species such as the black bat and otter also call this area home. Take a ferry ride over to the port town of Setubal for a lovely day out. If youre lucky, youll get to spot dolphins swimming in the sea as you make the crossing. The waterfront area is a great place to get a feel for the fishing heritage of the town. Theres a colourful harbour and Albarquel Urban Park, which is a great place to bring a picnic and enjoy both the grassy areas and the little stretch of sand. There are views of both the sea and the river from here - and you can even take a dip if you fancy it. Setubal also has an old centre with its plaza and number of religious and historic buildings, as well as museums that are fascinating to browse.
