Located in the picturesque coastal town of Villajoyosa, between Benidorm and Alicante, this stunning three-bedroom villa looks straight out on the ocean and offers a superbly comfortable environment. You will be just minutes away from the Old Town and Villajoyosas white sands, at this relaxing Costa Blanca retreat. The gorgeous sea views are never-ending at Villa Palmito, and its large outdoor pool gets the best of them. Theres plenty of room on the surrounding terrace too, which offers a delightful dining area with barbecue – an ideal place to try the fresh fish which are a speciality of the region, or a drink together while admiring the magnificent sunset. A clean, modern interior offers a wonderfully relaxing lounge area with fireplace, which enjoys lots of natural light when you open up the eye-catching shuttered windows. You have a large, comfortable sofa, satellite TV and Wi-Fi for chilling out any time of day. This area forms part of a split-level, open-plan space, so its just a step down to the beautiful dining area, which seats up to 12 at its chunky wooden table and offers direct access out to the terrace. Decorated in cream, the large and light kitchen is equipped with all you need, including a washing machine and dishwasher. The three double bedrooms are all air-conditioned and feature super king-size beds for a super-comfortable nights sleep. They are complemented by three stunning bathrooms which are just as stylish as the rest of the house. Known locally as La Vila Joiosa, the town lies around 12km south of Benidorm, and just over 30km from Alicante. It has lots of historic charm, and has been an important trading point over several centuries, most famously in chocolate – indeed the local chocolate factory and museum is one of Villajoyosas leading visitor attractions. Its delightful beach enjoys a backdrop of mountains and colourful fishing houses which line the seafront, and the town is well-connected too. A coastal tram which runs all the way from Alicante to Denia provides a scenic route to travel along this incredible stretch of coast. #### Features The Villa Villa Palmito is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday by the sea. It is recognisable by the many coloured houses which face its long and wide beach, providing a contrast to the 3km clean, white sands in front of them. The original purpose of this vibrant decoration was to help guide fishers home, as what is now a relatively large town was once a small fishing village – and it is still a big part of life in Villajoyosa today. The reliably mild climate makes Villajoyosa an attractive place to stay all year-round, and its position between the sea and the mountains give it some scenic spots. The Old Town is particularly pleasant to potter around, with landmarks worth noting including the 16th-century watchtower and Roman bridges. You are likely to come across the daily fish market, which provides the ideal opportunity to sample the local catch. Another place to get to know the towns history is at the small but exciting Vilamuseu, a museum right in the heart of the city. Perhaps the towns best-known visitor attraction is its chocolate museum – the reason for its existence is that one of Spains most famous chocolate brands, Valor, is based in Villajoyosa, and the museum gives you the opportunity to see how its made. A local diving centre and tennis club are among the sporting diversions on offer in Villajoyosa, and its position on the tram line running from Alicante to Denia means you can quickly go exploring. Its easy to forget that nearby Benidorm was just a small fishing village itself until as recently as the 1960s, and many of its attractions have a watery element – the Aqualandia and Terra Mitica theme parks are popular family choices. Further south, Alicante is a rewarding city filled with attractive parks, plazas and beaches. When you visit, you could also take a boat trip out to the beautiful island of Tabarca, less than an hour away and wonderfully unspoilt.
