Set in immaculate lawned gardens and just a stones throw from the beach, Villa Deleite is a beautiful three-bedroom villa on the Costa Blanca. Located in the town of Villajoyosa, home of magnificent Old Town buildings and a colourful array of fishing houses, its a short distance from both Benidorm and Alicante. The villa has some inviting outdoor spaces, with its centrepiece kidney-shaped swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers, parasols and seating. You have a built-in barbecue just a few steps from the poolside, ideal for an alfresco get-together. You can easily access the nearby beach, via a private road from the villa. The house itself covers two floors and features an attractive living room, dining area and kitchen on the upper level, with direct access to a balcony terrace with another dining table and chairs and seating area. There are three bedrooms, split over both floors, including one upstairs with access to the balcony, and one downstairs with access to the pool. All feature king-size beds and air-conditioning, and there are three bathrooms. Among the other facilities offered by Villa Deleite are satellite TV and Wi-Fi, as well as onsite garage parking. Villajoyosa, literally ‘joyous town, is perfectly located for coastal excursions, 12km from Benidorm and the beautiful scenery of the Serra Gelada. Its large white sand beach will draw you in, and the many beachfront restaurants will probably keep you there-there are lots to explore in the Old Town too, from Roman bridges to an impressive gothic church. Elsewhere in the region, you can head up into the hills and down into the Canelobre caves – definitely an experience not to be missed – or check out the animal parks and fun fairs in and around Benidorm, which has lots for the family to enjoy together. Youre also not too far from the pretty towns just north of the resort, including beautiful Altea and Calpe. #### Features The Villa Villa Deleite is located in the small port town of Villajoyosa, a small historic city on the Spanish Costa Blanca. It is recognisable by the many coloured houses which face its long and wide beach, providing a contrast to the 3km clean, white sands in front of them. The original purpose of this vibrant decoration was to help guide fishers home, as what is now a relatively large town was once a small fishing village – and it is still a big part of life in Villajoyosa today. The reliably mild climate makes Villajoyosa an attractive place to stay all year-round, and its position between the sea and the mountains give it some scenic spots. The Old Town is particularly pleasant to potter around, with landmarks worth noting including the 16th-century watchtower and Roman bridges. You are likely to come across the daily fish market, which provides the ideal opportunity to sample the local catch. Another place to get to know the towns history is at the small but exciting Vilamuseu, a museum right in the heart of the city. Perhaps the towns best-known visitor attraction is its chocolate museum – the reason for its existence is that one of Spains most famous chocolate brands, Valor, is based in Villajoyosa, and the museum gives you the opportunity to see how its made. A local diving centre and tennis club are among the sporting diversions on offer in Villajoyosa, and its position on the tram line running from Alicante to Denia means you can quickly go exploring. Its easy to forget that nearby Benidorm was just a small fishing village itself until as recently as the 1960s, and many of its attractions have a watery element – the Aqualandia and Terra Mitica theme parks are popular family choices. Further south, Alicante is a rewarding city filled with attractive parks, plazas and beaches. When you visit, you could also take a boat trip out to the beautiful island of Tabarca, less than an hour away and wonderfully unspoilt.
