Porec has Roman origins and is known for its high quality beaches, along with clear, unpolluted waters. This is Istrias top tourist hub, whilst history buffs will delight in the old town, with its basilica and original Roman street layout and central square. The preserved thirteenth century palace, Romanesque House, is worth a visit, as well as the House of Two Saints which was supposedly once a Benedictine Abbey.
