Sleeping up to 12 guests, Little Garth is a charming holiday home in the quaint village of Longhoughton close by to the fishing village of Boulmer. Just a 10-minute drive from Alnwick, it’s perfect for family staycations and groups of friends. You’ll have full access to the house during your stay which includes six bedrooms, four bathrooms, a living room, open plan kitchen living space and a dining room. Little Garth also benefits from a large garden with outdoor seating ideal for alfresco dining. The Space: Little Garth has a cosy living room with ample seating for your full group. Traditional in style, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need to make the most of your self-catering stay. Also sharing this space is a second living area with leather sofas and a flat screen TV. The dining area can be found in the sun room. Featuring a peaked ceiling and a stained glass window of a sun, this space has a great atmosphere. The perfect place to enjoy meals with your loved ones, you can get everyone together and tuck into a home cooked meal. There is also a games room with a table tennis table. Outside you’ll find a large garden with outdoor seating. Start your day with a morning coffee or enjoy lunch in the sunshine. Little Garth has six bedrooms. This includes three ensuite king size rooms and a double on the first floor. Head to the second floor and you’ll find two twin rooms. The family bathroom is on the first floor and includes a bath, separate shower, WC and basin. Guest Access: Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date. There is free parking located on site for up to six cars. The Neighborhood: Little Garth is located in the small village of Longhoughton just 1.4 miles from the fishing village of Boulmer. Alnwick is a short 10-minute drive away. With cobbled streets lined with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, the market town of Alnwick has charisma and personality in abundance. If you’re a keen reader, head to the old railway station and you’ll find one of the UK’s largest second hand bookshops. As night falls, venture to one of the lively inns to enjoy live music. Alnwick also has some of the country’s top attractions including Alnwick Castle, which was the location for the famous Harry Potter film franchise. Discover a realm of adventure by taking on the Dragon Quest or complete broomstick training in the very spot where Harry Potter had his first flying lesson. Head to the Artisan Courtyard to have fun dressing up in medieval costumes and get a feel for 14th century life. You can also explore The Alnwick Garden where you’ll find 12 acres of magnificent gardens and the world’s largest treehouse restaurant. Getting Around: There are two bus stops at the end of the drive with routes North to Seahouses and Berwick, and South to Alnwick and Newcastle. There are a number of bus stops throughout Alnwick and the Alnwick’s main bus station is just 10 minutes away from the house. Hop on the X20 which takes you through to Newcastle with stops in beautiful areas of Northumberland like Alnmouth and Amble. The X18 route travels between Newcastle and Berwick upon Tweed with stops in Morpeth, Amble and Seahorses. The closest train station is Alnmouth, which is roughly a 5-minute drive from the property so local towns in Northumberland can easily be reached via rail.
