And yet less than a 10-minute drive away is the small town of Garda (4km) with its great choice of shops and restaurants for evening meals out. Theres also a lovely old town area with many historic buildings to admire. There are plenty of other places to soak up the tranquil atmosphere along this stretch of Lake Garda, such as a lido where you can hire sun loungers and umbrellas. Theres also Parco Baia delle Sirene (550m) with its beach, garden, playground and chance to swim in the lake. The medieval village of Torri del Benaco (4km) sits at the foot of Monte Baldo and has a pretty harbour where you can watch boats coming and going. The villages central piazza is an often a lively place to relax with a drink or stop for lunch. Most-known for being the setting of Shakespeares ‘Romeo and Juliet, the city of Verona (40km) is around 50 minutes away by car. An obvious must-visit is Juliets House with the famous balcony. This iconic building is located within the historic centre of Verona, along with many attractive piazzas and churches. Next to Piazza Bra is the Roman amphitheatre, Verona Arena, which dates back to the 1st century. For another great day out, visit Monte Baldo (35km) with its plentiful mountain hiking trails and cable car. Also explore the city of Trento (85km), which is full of historic architecture, museums and galleries and is just over an hours drive from the villa.
