A few miles further the Guedelon site is a fantastic project of castle builders : it does attract half a million people from all over the world and is a unique historical project reconstructing the building techniques used in the 11th century - this is a whole day excursion. If you also like to taste wines the vineyards of Sancerre -Pouilly and Chablis are less than 50 km away from our house and best is to visit the local tourist center who will help and guide you. Try also to to visit Vezelay -a Unesco site in the nearby Morvan natural park.Auxerre has many nice restaurants and cafés and historic places such as the roman Saint Germain presbitary ( 9th century!) a great Merovinger cultural center including one of the oldest wall paintings in France . The Puysaie region has inspired writers such as Colette who loved the beauty of nature.
