The Golden Triangle of the Algarve is home to many luxury resorts and picturesque places. The Baroque church dates back to 1730. Nearby, the cultural centre houses a variety of art exhibitions and often hosts musical performances. Take a boat trip to go dolphin spotting, an unforgettable experience for the whole family. The dolphins are curious and interested in humans, so sometimes up to 50 of the wild mammals can be seen. Some companies even bring a marine biologist, so guests can learn all about the dolphins. Another area to explore nearby is Vilamoura, a resort town with a beautiful marina full of million-dollar yachts and many fine restaurants. Boat trips can be taken around the Algarve from here. Sample some Portuguese fare such as Caldeirada, a seafood stew made from white fish, oily fish and local clams and mussels. Caldo Verde, a healthy and hearty soup made from collard greens, fried potatoes, eggs and parsley is a tasty choice. Finish it all with some pastels de nata, the famous egg custard tarts dusted with cinnamon.
