The Novi Vinodolski Riviera is located in the central part of the Northern Croatian Littoral; the town is rich with historical sites, including the dilapidated walls of the Lopsica Roman fortress, the ruins of the former monastery, and the Frankopan castle with its tower. Famous for the small-pebbled beaches backed by green woods Nori Vindolksi offers both the best of natural beauty and access to unspoilt nature in its surrounding areas to authentic Croatian life. Water sports and boating trips are abundant in this region, whilst the islands of the Kvarner Bay are easily accessible. Only 205m from Novi Vindolski, visitors can visit the small island of St. Marino, which is known for its Gothic church. Nearby Crikvenica is one of the most scenic parts of the Adriatic coast, where the sea and the green plains of the Vinodol valley meet. Crikvenica has a host of seasonal events, including the traditional Fishermens Week (one of the oldest festivals in Crikvenica), whilst the Aquarium is worth a visit, filled with more than 150 species of fish, as is the Crikvenica Town Museum. Visitors interested in fishing and fish specialities shouldnt miss a visit to Klenovica, one of the most renowned fishing villages on the Adriatic. The Plitvice Lakes National Park is the largest, oldest and most visited Croatian national park, offering 16 spectacular lakes, connected by stunning waterfalls and cascades. Visitors will enjoy this unique oasis of natural beauty by walking along the paths and wooden bridges or taking a tour by small train and boat.
