El Ático de Vigo was renovated and updated in 2019. It is a sixth floor in a beautiful 1950s building with a stone façade in the centre of Vigo. It has a private terrace of 60 m² with sun loungers and an open-air dining table, and inside 90 m² it has all the comforts: air conditioning, central heating, Wi-Fi and satellite TV, a fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher. All this in a pleasant setting with views of the Ria de Vigo even from some areas of the interior. For people with mobility problems or parents with baby carriages it is necessary to bear in mind that both at the entrance to the building and on the top floor there is a section of stairs that must be climbed on foot as the elevator climbs from the porter´s lodge to the fifth floor. The Rías Baixas offer a privileged environment for the practice of nautical sports, especially sailing. The Real Club Náutico de Vigo is only 10 minutes away on foot, where you can also take the boat that goes to Cangas or the Cíes Islands, named by the British newspaper The Guardian as one of the 10 best beaches in the world. On their way to the port, they can stop at the famous Stone Market and take their speciality, oysters. To fully enjoy the city and its surroundings you dont need to have a car, as there is a good connection of buses, boats and trains. Most bus lines stop at Puerta del Sol next to the tourist office, 5 min walk, including the one that goes directly to the airport (about 2 euros for a ticket versus 20 euros for a taxi). By train, you can comfortably reach the centres of Pontevedra, Santiago, La Coruña and Orense to spend the day. If you have a car, dont miss neighbouring Portugal and the Miño River.
