Located in an elevated position in Frigiliana and offering extensive views across the valley with Nerja and the coastline to the South and the stunning background of the Andalucian mountains to the North, this amazing Villa Dachita can really boast one of the most enviable places. Shops, bars and restaurants are within a short drive. The guests can either make use of the regular bus service or, for the more adventurous, take a walk along the river bed to the bustling town of Nerja and stunning village of Frigiliana. This cosy detached villa, dating back to 1975, has been meticulously maintained. The most recent refurbishment, completed in 2010, provides a spacious open plan living and dining area with patio doors leading onto the extensive terrace with stunning views. The thoughtful layout of the terrace offers both shaded and sunbathing areas along with a purpose-built brick barbecue. A 70 year old Carob (Algarrobo) tree which has been incorporated into the design and stands tall within the property, provides valuable shade to the terrace. Throughout the villa are found a number of examples of handmade items of natural materials, skillfully produced by local craftsmen. From the clay plant pots to the hand painted wall tiles you will really appreciate the close attention to every detail. The villa entrance is through a large courtyard (paved with handmade clay bricks) filled with pots and a small garden on the right. Through its wooden door (painted in ultramarine blue like the windows of the house, giving a Mediterranean character to the villa), you enter the main level where you will find the dining room, kitchen, living room, bathroom and master bedroom. The size of the villa´s inside is 71 m2. The dining area, with a table and four chairs, overlooks the courtyard. In the living room you will find a comfortable sofa, two convenient and comfortable armchairs, a coffee table and an handmade entertainment unit with a TV (English / Spanish / German / French etc. channels), DVD, radio and CD player (with an assortment of DVDs and CDs). From this room, where there is also a wood stove, through the patio door, you will find a large terrace covered with a pergola overlooking the sea, the country and the mountains. This terrace is wonderful in summer and winter and has a table, four chairs and a purpose-built brick barbecue. The sunny master bedroom on the first floor (with a double bed, wardrobe and bedside tables), has a special feel. The original headboard was designed and made by a local artist using materials such as hand-forged iron, wood and stone. This bedroom gets plenty of light through the glass door, with a view of the huge terrace overlooking the main house where there is an ancient Algarrobo (Carob, a protected native tree from the Frigiliana area). From the living room down a staircase is the newly constructed second bedroom with two single beds, wardrobe, bedside table and bookcase (with many Spanish and English books). This bedroom has its own pretty en-suite bathroom (with shower, sink and toilet) with a view of the back of the property. The practical, well equipped kitchen has all modern day conveniences including a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, mini oven/microwave, butane gas hob, electric kettle, coffee maker, iron and ironing board, extractor hood, fire detector, toaster, juicer and everything you need for your holiday pleasure. The newly remodeled family bathroom on the main floor is decorated with hand-painted tiles and has a wash basin, large walk-in shower with natural light flooding through glass block detailing. A hair dryer is also provided. The water is heated by solar panels. The washing machine is in an annex off the house near the stairs to the upper terrace and the swimming pool. The pool was recently equipped with a new ecological water purification system, eliminating the need for chlorine, which is better for the guests and the environment. It is approximately 6’ long by 3’ deep (1.4/ 1.8 metres.) At the end of the pool, you will see a hand cut mosaic made by a local artist, the theme of which is a particularly striking sun. There are chaise-longues with cushions, a table, four chairs and a large sunshade. Villa Dachita has air conditioning and heating, a secure broadband Internet connection (WIFI-DSL) free of charge, and a parking space for our guests’ private use.
