Punta Prima is on the N332 which is the main road from Torrevieja to Cartegena passing through La Zenia and Cabo Roig. There are several sandy beaches closeby. La Zenia has a large family friendly beach and a smaller one. Torrevieja is a lively resort with a marina and a long pedestrian promenade. Cartegena is well worth a visit to see the ancient ruins and the big cruise ships arriving. Cabo Roig is a small but lively resort with a long "strip" of bars and restaurants buzzing with holiday makers in the summer season. A day trip to Alicante is highly recommended to see the wonderful marina and castle with magnificent views over the sea.
