The Space: Hall Yards Cottage is a single-level holiday home boasting a bright open plan living, kitchen and dining area, two bedrooms and a modern bathroom. As you enter the cottage, you’ll notice its light and airy feel. With wooden flooring and crisp plastered walls throughout, the property has a high quality finish. The open plan kitchen, living and dining room boasts an exposed vaulted ceiling with statement wooden beams. The back wall features original bricks to add a cosy cottage feel to the otherwise modern space. With a grey sofa and matching square armchair, this is the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring Northumberland. Fire up the sleek log burner and turn on the flat screen TV to enjoy a night in with your loved ones. Also in this space is the beautiful kitchen. With light grey cabinets and solid wood worktops, the kitchen has a traditional yet sophisticated look. You’ll have everything you could need for your self-catering stay as the cottage is fully equipped with an oven, hob, refrigerator, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is also the added luxury of a coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine. The dining area includes a breakfast style bar with four leather bar stools. Head to the first bedroom and you’ll find a striking space with an exposed brick feature wall and vaulted ceiling. There is a king size bed with premium bedding and linens as well as solid wood wardrobes with matching bedside tables. The second bedroom is ideal for younger ones and solo members of your party as it boasts single bunk beds. Light wood furniture and white bed linen create a neutral scheme to provide a truly relaxing feel. Super sleek in style, the bathroom has dark grey tiles and chrome accessories. The space is complete with a large walk in shower, WC and basin. Outside you’ll find an enclosed yard area with a log store and wooden shed. Guest Access: Guests have access to the full cottage. Steeped in history, the village takes its name from the nearby Hadrian’s Wall which runs close to the Northumberland National Park. Wall is also close to the charming town of Hexham which was voted England’s favourite market town by Country Life magazine. With great shopping facilities, local inns, restaurants and a buzzing arts scene, there will be plenty for you to discover. If you’re interested in history, head to Hexham Abbey which dates back to 674. For those who want a fun day out, Hexham has its own racecourse where you can enjoy the races and incredible views of the rolling countryside too. Wed also recommend trying the delicious Scandinavian-style Hjem restaurant - Northumberlands first Michelin starred restaurant - which is a short 2-minute walk from the property! Getting Around: The nearby town of Hexham is roughly a 10 minute drive from the cottage. Hexham has plenty of bus routes including trips to Newcastle and the Metro Centre. There is a bus stop in Wall which travels through to Hexham so you can get there easily. Kielder Water is a large man-made reservoir not far from Wall. It is the largest artificial lake in the United Kingdom by capacity of water and it is surrounded by Kielder Forest, one of the biggest man-made woodlands in Europe The nearest train station is Hexham which has routes from Newcastle, Carlisle and Sunderland.
