Experience the magic of staying in a four storey sixteenth century Venetian townhouse, lovingly renovated to provide contemporary comfort whilst retaining so much of its history and character. Elegant Corallina is in the San Marco district, a short walk from the ferry stop, the prestigious palaces of the Grand Canal and St Marks Square. Some of La Serenissimas most illustrious families have lived here over the centuries and its 21st century residents can still enjoy the authenticity of this exclusive Venetian neighbourhood. Its only a short walk to find livelier streets with restaurants, bars, a gourmet grocery and a much-loved gelateria as well as being just a few steps from the Grand Canal. From the marble lined entrance lobby to the spectacular views from the rooftop terrace, this air conditioned home provides comfort, privacy, and visual delight on every floor. Exposed original sixteenth century wooden ceiling beams grace each room, even in the sleek modern kitchen with its beautiful terrazzo floor. The Armani dining table and chairs rest resplendently beneath the chandelier next to the gleaming digital piano waiting to be played. The artistic combination of modern and antique is incorporated in both the design and the variety of exquisite furniture found throughout. The two sets of stunning bifora windows are grandly separated by single marble columns and the stylish living room features a beautiful fireplace, its soft red hue reflected in the adjacent furnishings and complementing the gold of an ornate side table. All three bedrooms have marble bathrooms, the master with the luxury of bath, while the twin has a charming view over Venetian rooftops. The characterful third floor bedroom with a sofa-bed has short flight of wooden steps leading to the roof terrace, a fine place to sit with a glass of wine looking across the city, spotting the visible blue strip of the Grand Canal and identifying Venetian landmarks. Back on the ground, its a minutes stroll to the waterbus which will whisk you to so many glorious destinations that Venice has to offer or simply stay local with a coffee at St Marks Square, a Bellini at the iconic Harrys Bar or a visit to the colourful market near the Rialto Bridge, all within a ten to fifteen minute walk. #### Features Townhouse Interiors Ground Floor - Entrance and lobby - Laundry area First Floor - Living and dining room - Kitchen, well-equipped including dishwasher, fridge-freezer, oven, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and breakfast bar Second Floor - Master bedroom with queen-size double bed and en suite bathroom with bath/shower and WC - Bedroom with twin beds and desk - Bathroom with shower and WC Third Floor - Den with double sofa-bed and access to roof-top terrace - Bathroom with shower and WC Outside Grounds - Small rooftop terrace (accessed via third floor den/bedroom) Facilities - Wi-Fi - Air-conditioning - Heating - TV - Hairdryer - Washing machine and dryer #### Location Corallina is situated in the San Marco district of Venice, a few steps from the Grand Canal and a ten-minute stroll to the famous landmarks of St Marks Square. It is also a short walk from a couple of vaporetto stops - if you are arriving at Venice Marco Polo airport, a water taxi will take you to the stop very close by or the airport Alilaguna waterbus drops you off about a five minute walk away. Some of the citys most prosperous and illustrious families have lived in these streets over the centuries and it remains an authentically Venetian, elegant and comparatively non-touristy area. Within easy walking distance of restaurants, bars, a gelateria, a gourmet grocery shop as well as a supermarket a little further, youll enjoy bringing essentials, treats and delicacies back to your holiday home. Head to the famous Rialto market, about a 15-minute walk away, for peaches, cherries, vegetables and fish and enjoy the walk across the Renaissance stone-arched bridge which spans the narrowest part of the Grand Canal. Take the ten minute walk from Corallina to St Marks Square with its domed Basilica and Gothic architecture of the Doges Palace. If you dont mind heights, take the lift up the Campanile for superb views over city and lagoon. For a memorable and Venetian experience, Caffe Florian is the oldest cafe in the world, tucked beneath the arches of the Procuratie Nuove in St Marks Square - be sure to check the price of coffee and cake beforehand! There are plenty of other charming eating places and bars in lesser known parts of La Serenissima. Indeed, its always great fun to just meander around this enchanting city to see what you might find - tiny bridges crossing narrow canals, a hidden church, a flower decked courtyard bar and interesting cameos of daily life in this fascinating city. Wherever you find yourself, you are sure to eventually arrive back at your elegant holiday home in one of the most enchanting cities of the world.
