Myndos Hills is a three-bedroom duplex style villa. Downstairs there is the living room, which opens out to a lovely veranda overlooking the garden. The living room and all bedrooms are fully air-conditioned. There is a fully fitted out modern kitchen downstairs, which has all conveniences including dishwasher, washing machine and microwave oven. The main oven is dual powered in that one of the rings is gas fired – the rest are electric. Finally, there is a downstairs WC and storage compartment at back of this. Upstairs are the three bedrooms – the master bedroom has a large en suite – and the main bathroom. All bedrooms are fitted with air-condition units. One of the single bedrooms has a DOUBLE bed. The veranda which overlooks the garden - and is very quiet at all times – has a barbeque built in. The garden has a number of small trees, including a lime tree and a pomegranate tree which produce fruit in season. A lovely low stone wall surrounds the garden. A new stone footpath from the entrance to the veranda has been installed in 2015 A new bamboo roof has been fitted on the veranda in 2015. This makes it very pleasant to sit in the shade. A lovely new white picket fence has been installed around the veranda for additional safety in 2015. Sorry not suitable for young children The Location Myndos Hills is situated high above the coast road overlooking the beautiful bay. The local dolmus (bus) service comes in to the complex on request. The main pool is fantastic – two thirds Olympic size! This is one of the finest pools in the Bodrum area - and that is not an exaggeration. There is also a kiddies paddle pool. Also, there is a children’s play area – slides etc. There is a table tennis and snooker table facilities on the complex. The complex is situated about a mile from the Gumusluk Marina, which has possibly about twenty great restaurants along the boardwalk. Also there is a fabulous, authentic, local arts and crafts area and some lovely shops. You can walk across the shallow water from the Marina to Rabbit Island – thousands of people do this every day. You will marvel as you look down on the clear green waters around the island, because you can see the walls of the sunken ancient city of Myndos. You can also swim or lie on the beach at the Gumusluk Marina The old village of Gumusluk is nearby. It looks like it probably did a hundred years ago - untouched by the tourists. There are numerous top class restaurants nearby along the coast road to Yalikavak. Sait is a marvellous fish restaurant. It is safer to take the dolmus or taxi at night if you are going along the coast road, as there are no footpaths. Public transport – the dolmus service – is very inexpensive. Taxis are also very reasonable. If you wish to do some touring, car hire is quite reasonable. Bumerang Car Rental company offers discount car rental to guests staying in Myndos Hills. The town of Yalikavak is a gem. It is about four miles away. There is a beach that stretches ‘forever’ and has a multitude of first class restaurants which must be visited. The town of Turgetries is in the other direction, about 15 minutes on the dolmus. This is a very busy resort – full of bars, restaurants and shops. It has a beautiful beach which is always busy. The Saturday morning market in Turgetries is a must – a great experience. Then, of course, there is Bodrum town itself which is about 30 mins away on the dolmus. This is known as the St. Tropez of the east. It is on the itinerary of all the cruise liners in that part of the world and it is obvious why that is so. Bodrum has everything – old and new. The town retains all the old Turkish architectural charm, yet it has all the facilities of a new city. It is very historical. The Mausoleums – which were once one of the seven wonders of the world, are there. So also, is a well preserved Roman amphitheatre. Bodrum Castle, once fortified by the Crusaders, stands majestically in the harbour. It is now a museum. For the young at heart, the Halicarnos disco on the water, is world famous. Bodrum is full of lively bars and restaurants. It is a mecca during the day and again at night. The Friendliness of the Turkish People The Turkish people are a warm, friendly and helpful nation. They will do anything in their power to help a visitor to their country, and they do not look for anything in return. They do not pester tourists and they treat everybody who visits their country with respect. There is a saying, among people who have visited Turkey that one comes to see their country – which is fabulously beautiful – and one returns for the friendship of their people. They make everybody feel welcome.
