This property is located on the ground floor and isall on one level and is therefore ideal for those with mobility problems. Fantastic water scenes, shops and restaurants are within a few minutes walk. A wide choice of lovely beaches and golf courses can be reached within 15-20 minutes. The property is located one minute from Taviras river and a bridge providing direct access to the beach ferry, the towns old market square, riverside gardens, fish restaurants and water taxis. The beach ferry service links the town to Tavira Island within about 10 minutes, offering a fabulous 5 km beach of golden sand. Alternatively there is a wide choice of alternative beaches within 10-20 minutes by car. Everything you need - groceries, shops, restaurants and the beach ferry are within 5 minutes walk of the house. Neighbouring towns of Cabanas, Olhao, Fuzeta, Faro and Vila Real are all within 20-30 minutes by car.Tavira is 4 km from the IP1/A22 motorway, so most of the western Algarve can be accessed within aabout 40 minutes, the Spanish border within 20 minutes and Seville in 1 hour 45 minutes. The bus station is 5-6 minutes walk from the house and the station about 15 minutes walk. There are a variety of local attractions to visit including: Tavira skate park on the east bank just past the railway viaduct; the Camera Obscura offering a 360 degree panoramic view of Tavira from up high; Tavira’s 2000 year old castle, located up the hill past the tourist office, which has gardens and great views across the roof tops from on top of its walls; a number of magnificent historic churches; the Municipal Museum in Palacio de Galeria. The Ria Formosa, stretching from Faro to Tavira is the most extensive lagoon complex in Portugal and offers a range of trails and footpaths, beaches, islands and natural habitats to be explored. Touristic boat tours are available with various circuits such as along the Ria Formosa lagoon, its fishing villages, historic sites and natural habitats. Peco Inferno is a beautiful spot with a waterfall feature and natural pool suitable for swimming - ideal for children. There is a playground for small children next to the Pingo Doce supermarket. Aqua Show water park and Zoo Marine in the western Algarve are a great day out for children. There are many fextival events during the summer months. The nearest supermarket to the house is the Pingo Doce , 5 minutes walk away. At Tavira’s food market, open most days of the week, a large variety of fish, meat and vegetables can be purchased at good prices. There are a range of craft and speciality shops in the town particularly around the old market place and on the way up towards the station. The recently opened Gran Plaza on the east side of the town is a major new shopping mall with over 100 shop units, a Continente hypermarket, cinema complex and food court.
