You can sit all day on the beach in Varna if you wish, but there is more to do than that, especially if you have good shoes and a good appetite! Taxis are cheap and safe, or for a small handful of stotinki you may like to try out the bus service. Varna is full of history which you can still see all around you today. Your host will tell you how to reach some fascinating places that will keep you clicking your camera. Vladislav Varnenchik (north of the Cathedral) - shops, cinemas and eating places Pedestrianised town centre (Ploshtad Nezavisimost) with Cathedral of the Assumption (1880-1886) at Pl. Mitropolit Simeon open 07h00-18h00 daily Archaelogical Museum in the park on Boulevard Maria Luisa 41 Open Tuesday-Saturday, 10h00-17h00. Drama Theatre (Dramatichen Teatur) for local and national theatre productions, opera and symphony concerts Naval Museum (Voennomorski Muzei) open Tues. to Sat. 10h00-18h00. Restored street with restaurants, taverns and coffee houses (do you like cream cakes …..?) in ul. Stari Druzhi Church of the Holy Virgin (Tsurkva Sveta Bogoroditsa) built 1602 - ul. Han Krum at ul. Knyaz Alexander Batenburg Roman baths (Rimski Termi) built in 2nd and 3rd centuries (ul. Han Krom south of Tsurkva Sveta Bogoroditsa) Roman and Byzantine ruins Stone forest (Pobiti Kamuni) between Devnya and Varna Restaurants and coffee shops - everywhere! A visit to the popular and elegant Golden Sands resort is a must - you may spot a movie star or two while you are there! There is plenty of night life - visit the seafront down the steps from the city centres main pedestrianised street, which leads you right onto the beach past all these other attractions - excellent restaurants, bars, coffee shops (oh-oh, those cream cakes again!) and nightclubs. This is a particularly enjoyable area on warm evenings. When your evening is over, taxis are to be found at all hours so keep a few leva in your pocket after you have enjoyed the food and drink. We cant begin to name all the restaurants, they are everywhere and all offer excellent food. There is a person in the villa who takes care of the maintenance of the swimming pool and the garden. Guest facilities are separate.
