Villa Almatheia offers spacious and airy accommodation:- firstly on entering on the ground floor there is an open plan living/dining room with superb views, a fully fitted kitchen and a cloakroom with toilet and hand basin and a utility room for the washing machine/dryer. French doors from both living and dining areas give access to an open veranda with pergola, the garden and the sea. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms with floor to ceiling fitted wardrobes and breath-taking sea views. Again French doors from both bedrooms give access to a balcony with pergola. There is a bathroom with toilet, hand basin & bath/shower and then a 2nd separate room with shower & hand basin. The private garden is arranged over two terraces. The upper terrace is grassed and has a stone paved patio with pergola where you can enjoy a barbecue or a relaxing drink. From the upper terrace a few stone steps take you down to the open paved lower terrace which is perfect for sunbathing. Also from the lower terrace 4 stone steps take you down to the pebble beach and sea. Spoil yourself, wake up each morning to spectacular sea views and spend every day swimming and relaxing in private by the beautiful clear waters of the Ionian Sea. It is possible for the 3 adjacent villas to comfortable accommodate in total 12 persons, as each 2 bedroom separate house accommodates 4 persons. THE LOCAL AREA & THE ISLAND OF ZAKYNTHOS Then on the main road in the village of Drossia itself, approx. 1 km from the property, you will find a supermarket, bakery, veg shop & also the famous Crossroads Grill Taverna. Scattered along the west coast of mainland Greece the Ionian Islands are lush and green, with vast olive groves, tall cypress trees, imposing mountain landscapes, beautiful beaches and crystal clear blue waters. Each island has a natural beauty and a distinct tradition, cuisine and architecture. Zakynthos has a varied terrain, with fertile plains in the south-eastern part and mountainous terrain with steep cliffs along the coasts on the west. To the southwest is the National Marine Park of Zakynthos where loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta) are found in the bay of Laganas. Caretta is an endangered species. Every year beginning in June the female turtles come to the southern beaches in order to bury their eggs in the sand. The western coast is refuge and breeding ground for another endangered species the Mediterranean monk seal.
