Situated in an unspoiled area with few amenities or attractions beyond the beach. The area caters mainly for independent travelers and those wanting a peaceful, relaxing holiday. Also popular with locals as a weekend escape from Rhodes Town. There is a large beach stretching the length of the resort, with sun beds and sun umbrellas. It is sandy at one end, changing to shingle at the other. There is a variety of water sports on offer and a couple of snack bars/tavern’s like the Mosquito bar. For shopping there is supermarkets and a handful of tourist shops 4,1 kilometers away. The nightlife here consists of a couple of beach side bars, otherwise it is all hotel based. For meal times there is a handful of family-run taverns and snack bars offering local fare and overlooking beach front. Rhodes Island Rhodes is an island in the Aegean Sea, with the best sunshine record of all the Mediterranean islands, summer holidays in Rhodes are hotter than hot but your still guaranteed glorious sunshine if you visit in the quieter spring or winter months. The country exudes traditional charm, particularly on its ever-popular islands, which cling to their stereotypical architecture and way of life despite being often over-run by tourists. Black-clad women still deliver vegetables to island taverns on pannier donkeys, while bronzed, lined fishermen sit in the sun, drink thick coffee, and play dominoes or dice. The tourist infrastructure has intruded in many respects, but the timeless aspect of whitewashed buildings clustered on hillsides around narrow pebbled alleys has been retained. The myriad islands in the Aegean Sea are easily accessible from Piraeus, the historic harbour of Greeces mainland capital, Athens, by ferry or hydrofoil, offering a unique chance for island-hopping. Many of the larger islands also have airports with connections to Athens or seasonally with major European cities. Rhodes Rhodes was blessed by the Sun God Helios and this is apparent by the 300 days of glorious sunshine this picturesque island enjoys. A land of contrasts, offering secluded coves, golden sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, unspoiled mountain villages, spectacular scenery with lush vegetation, lively nightlife and centuries of history and mythology.
