Our apartment is located in the private wing of a leisure hotel complex, on the 3rd floor on the south side of the building. It faces up the valley towards the spectacular Dachstein mountain and ski slopes, and is surrounded by grazing pastures. Dining on the balcony in summer is a joy with a romantic atmosphere created by the tinkling cow bells and church chimes as the sun shines from midday till dusk. Please note that Tourist Tax is collected by the Reception on arrival: €2.50/adult/day. The apartment is reached by a lift and is bright and spacious, consisting of a large room with the twin beds at the rear facing a large wardrobe, with the large sofa and dining table at the front with its large window, and balcony, looking up the spectacular valley. There is a small modern kitchen, with halogen hob, fridge, etc, but no oven, and a bathroom with an always hot shower above the full size tub, WC and basin. Downstairs, is the hotel bar and restaurant, which our guests can use with advance notice at the Owners special rates. Guests have free use of the indoor pool and sauna, games room and garden terraces, plus the ski-bus in winter. Other facilities must be paid for: The Wellness Centre, Tennis Hall, Guided Tours, etc. Gosau is an idyllic mountain village in its own valley, which features the awesome jagged peaks of the Gosaukamm mountain ridge next to the majestic Dachstein mountain. It has a glacier on top and it can all be viewed whilst walking around the lake below, or from up on the Zweiselalm plateau opposite, where there are several hut restaurants with terraces to admire the view. Parking places for us and our guests are free and close to the side door. Hallstatt nearby, just outside our valley, is a major tourist sight, and features a mountain side village with historic salt mine and other caves. St Wofgang and Bad Aussee where Austrians wear traditional dress, are worthwhile places to visit, making a week a good minimum stay. In winter, a free ski bus collects you from the front door, and lockers are provided for skis and bits downstairs Our place is perfect for couples of all ages, enjoying active or lazy days by the gorgeous lakes or up on the mountain trails - and for skiing in winter.
