Heron Mews provides stunning views across and along the River Esk, making it the perfect, peaceful retreat. Sleeping up to eight guests, Heron Mews is an excellent choice for family getaways or a staycation with friends. The Space: Upon entering Heron Mews, you’ll be welcomed by a spacious living room. With ample seating and a flat screen TV, it’s the perfect place to relax with your loved ones. Double doors open out into a cosy patio area with outdoor seating providing breathtaking views of Whitby viaduct. At the rear of the property you’ll find a modern kitchen-diner. You’ll have everything you need to make the most of your self-catering stay. There is a cloakroom with a WC and basin located on the ground floor. On the first floor you’ll find the master bedroom, second bedroom and family bathroom. The large bedroom includes a double bed, a seating area and flat screen TV, as well as access to the balcony with additional seating. Suitable for children and teenagers, the second bedroom features single bunk beds. Take the stairs up to the second floor where you’ll find two additional bedrooms and a second bathroom. Both bedrooms boast comfy double beds and sloped ceilings with skylight windows. Guest Access: Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date. Interaction with Guests: We’re always available for our guests so please don’t hesitate to get in touch. The Neighborhood: Heron Mews is located on the East side of Whitby near the infamous viaduct. Located outside of the hustle and bustle in a quiet and secluded area, you’ll be perfectly placed to enjoy peaceful walks nearby. In the centre of town, you can walk along Church Street and you’ll wind up at the East bank where you’ll find narrow medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’. Walk over the swing bridge which sits over the River Esk and you’ll find yourself at the West side of town. It’s here you can discover cosy pubs, fun arcades and even more fish restaurants! Continue along the lively road until you reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts. Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks. Getting Around: The centre of Whitby is a short seven-minute drive from Heron Mews. Whitby and Ruswarp train stations are less than two miles away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to Whitby train station. There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
