Chateau Segalas is located in the northwest of the Lot et Garonne department, close to the border with the Dordogne. Travel to the bastide town of Castillonnes (12 km) for a lively weekly market, fine restaurants and sightseeing. Wine lovers have a short drive to Bergerac vineyards, and with three major rivers nearby, outdoor enthusiasts can canoe or kayak through beautiful natural scenes. Chateau Segalas is 35 minutes from the Bergerac airport and 80 minutes from the train station and airport in Bordeaux. #### Features Chateau Interior Bedrooms There are six bedrooms, all with new mattresses and linen from the White Co. The two tower double bedrooms have wrought iron four-poster beds. The master bedroom has a double bed and is decorated with period French furniture. There are two twin bedded rooms, one with period furniture and the other with a pair of wrought iron beds. All bedrooms have high ceiling with exposed beams. On the ground floor of one of the towers, is a single bedroom with a large double bed. Bathrooms The master bedroom has en suite bathroom, there are two other bathrooms, one on the first floor with a shower and toilet and the other is on the ground floor with a large old fashion bathtub and toilet. Drawing Room Located on the ground floor, it is light and airy with lovely views through the windows. It is comfortably furnished with sofas, armchairs and provincial French furniture. Family Room Located opposite the drawing room across the hallway the family room has a large sofa, several armchairs and a desk. The room is well equipped with a TV, DVD player, CD player, broadband and Wi-Fi access, books and games. Kitchen Decorated in French rustic style with apparent stonewalls, wood cupboards and pine furniture. It is well equipped with a gas cooker, a fridge and microwave. There is a kitchen table which seats 10 people comfortably. Dining Room The Dining Room has a large table with seating for 12 guests. The house offers many different locations for dining including the terrace, the courtyard and the pool house. Swimming Pool and Pool House The pool is sheltered on one side by the very large pool house which was formerly the barn. The pool has an electrically operated cover which can be closed when desired for security and at night. The pool house consists of three areas, a changing room, a table tennis room and a very large sitting/dining area which serves as the centre for family activities in the summer months. In addition, there is a summer kitchen and serving area and a bathroom with shower and toilet. There is also charcoal bbq for you to enjoy your summer. #### Location Chateau Segalas is located in the northwest part of the Department of Lot et Garonne, very close to the border with the Department of Dordogne. Three major rivers, the Dordogne, the Garonne and the Lot run through this very beautiful region of rolling fields, woods and orchards. The area is steeped in history, richly endowed with picturesque towns and villages, medieval churches and imposing chateaux. The property is 12 kms from the bastide town of Castillonnes, 35 kms south of Bergerac and 30 kms north-west of Villeneuve-sur-Lot. The nearest airport is Bergerac Roumaniere, (about 35 minutes by car). It is served by daily flights from and to London Standsted (Ryanair) and Southampton (Flybe). BA flies daily to Bordeaux from London Gatwick. The drive from Bordeaux takes about an hour and twenty minutes. Bordeaux Merignac is about an hour and 20 minutes by car. There is a TGV service which runs between Paris, Libourne and Bordeaux. The SNCF runs a rapid TGV service between Paris, Libourne and Bordeaux. For those who wish to drive, the preferred route would be to take the motorway between Paris and Bordeaux and then turn off towards the direction of Libourne and Bergerac.
