More recent history provides visitors the opportunity to enjoy Palacio de Estoi, which is noted as one of the more poignant historic gardens in Portugal. The premises were erected in the 18th Century and showcase impressive grounds, as well as architecture and art that is synonymous with the era. Estoi is a few kilometres from the clamour of Faro and therefore provides a more serene setting in the foothills. Estoi is home to a number of quaint local services, that resemble more of an authentic Portuguese holiday experience.
