Casa dos Bicos is a typical and traditional Alentejo house built in mud, with natural characteristics that preserve it cool in summer and comfortable in winter. It is an ecological house (EcoCasa) uses natural resources for energy production and hot water supply, promotes the recycling and recovery of old furniture, and ends up promoting the rural history of an Alentejo family. In the living room, above the wood-fired oven, some of the old utensils of the grandparents (which, besides farming, were dedicated to beekeeping and local commerce) are on display. It is situated in a rural area, in a village near the Vicentine Coast, 17 km from Cercal do Alentejo. The house has 2 bedrooms. In total it has 3 double beds (old iron beds restored). In the living room there is an additional sofa bed, if required, in case of occupancy of the space by 3 couples. The kitchen is fully equipped for guests (with washing machines and crockery included). The living room has TV, sofa bed and fireplace. The outside area has barbecue and garden (only for 2 to 6 people). Free parking. What to do? Activity: Beaches to visit, Boat trips, cruises on the River Mira, fishing, bird watching and other activities. Municipality of Odemira Development of Alentejo (CCDR Alentejo), "Alentejo Walking," which is the creation and presentation of a website with information on walking routes in the Alentejo through a cartographic base of regional. Odemira has many routes throughout the county thereby disclosing their potential for fans of hiking.
